Great achievements and new opportunities...

LEADERSHIP TO BE REMEMBERED

At the yourtown Board of Directors scheduled meeting in April, Br Ambrose Payne indicated his intention to retire from his role of Chair.

14 years of leadership

Br Ambrose became the Chair of BoysTown Ltd (now yourtown) when the organisation incorporated as a public company limited by guarantee in 2002.  For more than 14 years he provided exemplary leadership with an unwavering commitment to our values and mission. His leadership helped guide growth and build services that connect with tens of thousands of young people each year.

Outstanding Dedication

While maintaining a strong focus on professionalism, Br Ambrose was nurturing to the vitality of those involved in the delivery of our mission. His strong vision, values and commitment resulted in significant growth of services for young people and families of Australia. Including:

  • Creation of facilities and support programs for homeless families
  • Development and expansion of accommodation responses for women and children escaping domestic violence
  • Implementation of research and advocacy platforms to give voice and inform social policy
  • Expansion of our employment and training programs and initiatives

In October 2015, Br Ambrose was appointed to the position of Interim General Bursar of the De La Salle Institute. As you can imagine, such a position demands a great deal of time and energy. We were inspired by Br Ambrose remaining so committed to the governance and operations of yourtown. Maintaining the highest personal standards and leading by example.

New Opportunities

Our executive leadership and operational teams sincerely thank Br Ambrose for his guidance, wisdom and commitment. Our new Chair will be announced in the coming weeks.

At yourtown, we are tackling the issues young people have. We continue to be part of the solution and provide services that young people can access to find jobs, learn skills and live safer and happier lives. Your donation will help us be there for more young people. Make a difference and donate today.
