Bring a counsellor to class!

Kids Helpline and Optus are helping primary schools across Australia tackle challenges to the wellbeing of students by delivering video link ups between counsellors and classrooms.

WE CARE. WE LISTEN

Kids Helpline @ School provides support for children facing issues such as friendship and relationship problems, cyber bullying, family issues and fears about transitioning into high school. CEO Tracy Adams, officially launched the Australian first program at Fairhills Primary School in Ferntree Gully, Melbourne yesterday. She said the free program will see qualified Kids Helpline counsellors joining classrooms across the country via video linkup.

These sessions aim to normalise help seeking behaviour and assist children to feel comfortable about seeking support. Tracy Adams

We have been operating Kids Helpline for 22 years and as a result, we have collated the most common issues kids talk and interact with us about. We have turned these into sessions for the program.

Any primary school in Australia can book a session by visiting the Kids Helpline website, phoning 07 3867 1284 or emailing [email protected].

Check out the Ten News coverage of the launch.
