Building a future for women in construction

By: yourtown 24 Jun 2015 BoysTown

Eleven women graduated from the Women in Trades program at our yourtown Training Facility in Sydney last Friday.

EDUCATION. TRAINING. WORK.

They leave with a Construction White Card and Traffic Control ticket, and up to seven out of 25 units of a Certificate III in Civil Construction completed.

BoysTown is at the forefront of developing and delivering training programs designed to meet industry skill shortages. We work with industry to help determine employer needs and improve the employability options available in the community.

We are so pleased to be able to help young women kick start a career in construction and to help the industry increase the number of women working in male-dominated trades. John Perry, BoysTown Employment, Education and Training General Manager.

This program is just one of the many ways BoysTown is helping job seekers to overcome the challenges of unemployment.
