Congratulations to BoysTown retail training graduates
New graduates of the BoysTown Community Learning Program’s retail training program received certificates and congratulations last week from Member for Redlands, Peter Dowling MP.
EDUCATION.TRAINING.WORK.
The BoysTown Community Learning Program, launched in March, provides accredited Certificate II and III level training in retail for unemployed people in South East Queensland.
Recent graduates received certificates and celebrated their achievements at an afternoon tea at BoysTown’s Redlands facility last week.
Some of the graduates have already found employment. Like Ihipera, who is excited to be employed looking after products and shipping in a warehouse for cool surf wear brands.
The four week retail program was fantastic and BoysTown contacted me on a daily basis, so I knew I should stay with the program. I'm excited because one week after completing the course I had a job. Ihipera
BoysTown were able to provide Ihipera with a wrap-around service. She originally came to Youth Connections at Redlands and was able to access education and training through the Community Learning Program. This then linked into the Employment Services Program which provides young people with ongoing support in finding employment.
These programs are some of the many ways BoysTown is helping job seekers to overcome the challenges of unemployment.
