Your business may be able to get financial assistance of up to $10,000 (GST inclusive) when you hire an eligible new employee who is between 15-24 years of age.
Wage Subsidies are designed to help employers hire young people into sustainable jobs by contributing to the initial and ongoing costs of recruitment, including training and wages.
Who can do it?
Government subsidies are usually available for any employer who hires eligible job seekers registered with Transition to Work.
The employment can be ongoing full time, part time or casual and offers an average of 20 hours per week over a six month period of the agreement.
Is your business eligible?
You may be eligible if:
- You have an Australian Business Number (ABN)
- Your business is not an Australian, state or territory government agency
- The work complies with employment standards for the role, e.g. pays national award wage
- The employee is not an immediate family member
