Follow Cyril’s journey
Everyone deserves the opportunity to contribute to their community but many disadvantaged young people face significant barriers to a meaningful work and social life.
Identifying these barriers and helping young people break through them is where BoysTown makes a difference.
BoysTown’s Enterprises provide the long-term unemployed and those with little or no work experience, with the vocational and other skills needed to secure employment. Young people learn through on-the-job training what it means to be a team, work on their literacy and numeracy skills, and receive one-on-one support to address personal barriers to getting a job.
Cyril’s journey with us began last year and in April he secured a traineeship with Eureka Landscapes.
I was referred to BoysTown by Centrelink and my mates. My mates said it was pretty good. And they have given me job opportunities, courses to do. Through BoysTown I’ve learnt lots of skills in construction, fencing, landscaping and recycling. I was able to get a car. Mum was stoked. BoysTown help you with anything. It has been a massive change in my life from being unemployed to working. Thanks BoysTown for the chance. Cyril
This year we have helped almost 300 young people through BoysTown’s Enterprises. Your support is critical so that we can help more young people like Cyril. Give generously to provide more disadvantaged young people with the opportunity to achieve a better life.
