Kids Helpline promotes mental health at State of Origin

The Kids Helpline team were at Accor Stadium last night raising awareness of mental health in Australia.

WE CARE. WE LISTEN.

They were joined by a cast of NRL One Community Ambassadors including David Peachey, Josh Perry, Mario Fenech, Michael Crocker and Scott Prince to get the message out to young people that suicide and depression can happen to anyone and there are places to turn for help.

It was all part of the National Rugby League’s ‘What’s Your State of Mind’ campaign launched last year during Origin time to breakdown stereotypes and stigmas in relation to mental health.

Watch two of the toughest rivals in State of Origin history, Paul Gallen and Nate Myles fight … to talk about their feelings.

Thanks for being committed to building a better future, NRL! #NRLStateofmind

If young people want to talk to someone they can call Kids Helpline on 1800 55 1800, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week or use email or web counselling services. No issue is too big or small.

They can also visit the Hot Topics section on the Kids Helpline website for advice on a range of issues. We also offer advice for parents.

We’d love to hear your thoughts about this partnership. Comment below.
