EDUCATION.TRAINING.WORK.
The BoysTown Community Learning Program, launched in March, provides accredited Certificate II or III level training for unemployed people in South East Queensland.
Today in a ceremony at Woodridge State High School graduates received both a Certificate III in Aged Care and Certificate III in Home and Community Care.
Two of the graduates have already been employed in aged care facilities, which is good news for not only the graduates but also an industry in desperate need of qualified staff.
Other graduates will continue to work with the Community Learning Program Mentor to find further training opportunities or employment.
Program graduate Nicole Hugh said she is proud of what she has achieved.
Thanks for this awesome opportunity. I am very proud to say that the skills and knowledge I have gained have not only built my confidence but made me overwhelmed that I can provide for my family and give my kids a better future. I am also doing something that I enjoy and am passionate about. Nicole
