Change for the better
National Youth Week kicked off Friday and is the largest celebration of young people in Australia. It is an opportunity for us to celebrate of the young people we support.
COUNSELLING. EMPLOYMENT. SUPPORT.
Young people like Tim*, who took part in one of our social enterprises giving unemployed young people real job skills.
“All the training has actually worked. I really like the way they teach and take the time to show you with no yelling. I was hanging out with the wrong crowd and got into trouble but all that came good when I went to BoysTown. It was really great and I really loved the work.”
Currently I am working six days a week on good money and when I finish my qualifications I will start my own business and I will train others the way I have been helped. Tim.
Over the last 10 years BoysTown has employed about 1500 young people in these types of enterprises and around three quarters have obtained a job or gone into vocational training or education.
