Today, Kids Helpline marks a powerful milestone, making its nine millionth response to a contact from a child or young person, each one a moment of extraordinary bravery, trust, and hope.

Child abuse doesn’t always leave a mark you can see. As a community, we often focus on physical and sexual abuse, the more visible kinds of harm, yet emotional abuse and neglect can be just as damaging, with lifelong impact on how children see themselves, form relationships, and grow into adulthood.

Canberra will hear directly from young Australians today as yourtown launches its Your Voice Report 2025, bringing together the views of more than 4,000 young people aged 12–25 and highlighting urgent reform needed across safety, mental health, education, and the rising cost of living.

Today, Kids Helpline @ School receives a significant boost as the Bupa Foundation, the principal partner of Kids Helpline, steps forward with $300,000 of funding for the new high school program along with additional financial support for the primary school program, following increasing demand.

Meta is partnering with the Australian Federal Police-led Australian Centre to Counter Child Exploitation (ACCCE), Kids Helpline and US-based organisation NoFiltr, to launch today a community service announcement to inform young people about the dangers of online sextortion.
